The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors is seeking applicants to serve on several County Commissions, 5th District Supervisor Josie Gonzales announced recently.

Commissions are made up of local residents which advise the County Board of Supervisors on a variety of issues. Currently, commission openings are available for the Regional Parks Advisory Commission, Senior Affairs Commission and the Housing Advisory Commission, Gonzales posted on her social media pages.

The housing advisory commission advises the board on affordable housing opportunities for low-income families and seniors within the region, while the senior affairs commission advocates for older persons, advises the County Board of Supervisors, and informs other advocates and organizations on specific local, state, and federal legislation affecting seniors.

Appointees must be registered to vote and reside in the Cities of Colton, Fontana, Rialto, San Bernardino or the unincorporated communities of Bloomington, El Rancho Verde, Glen Helen, Arrowhead Farms, and Muscoy.
