Dozens lined up to delve into dishes from local restaurants during last year’s Taste of Rialto. This year’s event is set June 5.

The Rialto Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the city will host the 10th annual event from 5 to 8 p.m. June 5 in downtown along the park at Riverside and Rialto avenue.

With a “Viva Las Vegas” theme this year, guests will have Lady Luck on their side and have a chance to delve into dishes and drinks served up at some of the city’s staple and newest eateries, while participating restaurants vie for bragging rights in selected categories–best appetizer, entrée, dessert presentation and new this year, best wine and brewery–all selected by guests themselves.

“So many people think we don’t have anything in Rialto,” said Midge Zupanic, the chamber’s interim executive director.

“We have plenty.”

And the annual event is the place to discover some of the city’s unique eateries.

Scheduled to cook up more than a few mouth-watering bites for the June 5 event are over a dozen local restaurants including Corky’s Kitchen and Bakery, Cuca’s Mexican Food, Culichi Town, Westside BBQ Pit and Patio West Deli.

Helping wash down the grub will be O’Leary’s Irish Pub, San Antonio Winery and other area breweries.

What’s on the menu or on tap, however, is all part of finding out when milling around at the event.

Tickets to this year’s Taste are available for $25 and include tastings and  Las Vegas-style entertainment provided by Gabriel James performing hits from Wayne Newton and other Vegas icons.

Guests can also enter for a chance to win dozens of raffle prizes donated by area businesses, as well as try their luck on the roulette wheel for a chance to win a smokin’ grill donated by Bull Outdoor Products.

Guests can purchase a chance on the wheel for $20 or six chances for $100. Only 38 chances are available, according to organizers.

Although Taste of Rialto is only a few days away, local restaurants wanting to participate still have an opportunity to feature some of their dishes. Those interested must submit an application by June 3.

For ticket purchase or applications, call the Rialto Chamber of Commerce at 909-875-5364.
