The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, presented by GEICO, is ready to hit the homestretch of the 2019 season with its second visit to the off-road epicenter of Southern California. The most talented off-road racers highlight the return of the premier short-course off-road championship to San Bernardino’s legendary Glen Helen Raceway for the Rockstar Energy Golden State Off Road Nationals, presented by General Tire, which will feature an action-packed doubleheader weekend on Saturday, October 5, and Sunday, October 6.

As the most competitive championship in the sport, the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series pits these exceptional talents of all ages against one another across a growing collection of fan-friendly, pulse-pounding racetracks, which has helped the series emerge as the preeminent form of off-road racing.

After a welcomed summer break, the world’s best short-course drivers come into Glen Helen feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. The grueling season has seen virtually every top contender endure through some sort of adversity, but the time away from the track has helped everyone move on from the past and set their sights on a strong run to close out the 2019 calendar, in which just two rounds and four days of racing remain.

Leading the way amongst a large and talented collection of local competitors is Riverside, California, native RJ Anderson. Arguably the sport’s biggest rising star, Anderson was born into the sport with the help of his father, Randy, who served as the longtime crew chief of Walker Evans, arguably the biggest name in the history of off road racing. As a result, RJ’s career path was all but destined to bring success, and early in his teenage years he was already turning heads with his raw talent. Over the course of his decade-long career, Anderson has won multiple championships and has established himself as arguably the next off-road superstar as the reigning Pro 4 Champion.

In addition to Anderson, the Southern California representation heading into Glen Helen also includes the likes of freestyle motocross legend Brian Deegan and his daughter, NASCAR rising star Hailie Deegan (Temecula), as well as multi-time champion Kyle LeDuc (Temecula).
