Rialto Market Night is back!

Rialto Market Night returns for its second season next week and is expected to be bigger and better this time around.

From locally grown fruits and veggies to various types of vendors, offering food, unique items and plenty more, this year’s monthly event kicks off April 30 and continues through Sept. 24.

New this year is the expansion of more activities for families to take part in and some events to get people moving, said Barbara McGee, Market Night manager.

This year’s evening events will include theme nights and offer everything from exercise classes to singing and dancing.

To get things moving from the start, the April 30 theme will be a Zumba night, where attendees can participate in the fast-paced exercise/dance routine.

On May 28, The Plustones will offer up a rockin’ good time guaranteed to get crowds moving.

June 25 will go to the dogs as Market Night introduces “Doggie Night Out.” Guests can bring their licensed, leashed furry friends to enjoy a cool summer night out with the family.

Following on July 30 will be Ronnie B. Good and the Flavor Band bringing jazz, R&B, Blues and a little funk to Market Night.

On Aug. 27 to help ease the summer heat, Market Night will offer a variety of “cool” games and activities for families.

And wrapping up event festivities on Sept. 24, Larry “The Entertainer” Travis, will host a Karaoke Night for those interested in belting out some greatest hits.

Rialto Market Night -held in the parking lot area near City Hall from 5 to 8 p.m.- is spearheaded through Healthy Rialto in an effort to provide residents a healthy alternative to grocery shopping as well offer an opportunity to be active and participate in family-friendly activities.

Market Night debuted last year as a spinoff of the city’s weekly Certified Farmers Market offered Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Last year’s successful market nights brought organizers to launch the event for another season, and hopefully continuously for the Spring and Summer months to come, said McGee, who also is the founder of Healthy Rialto.

Vendor spaces for upcoming Market Nights are available and vendors must provide their own canopy, table, chairs, power source or any other equipment necessary to operate the space.

Cost for information venders is $20; merchandise vendors, $30 and $40 for food vendors.

Spaces for all vendors are on a first-come first-serve basis.

For Market Night booth information or an application, call the City Clerk’s office at 909-820-2519.
