Family of woman killed in Colton shooting asking for donations
2 min readA go fund me page has been created to help cover the funeral expenses of Patricia Quintero, who was tragically shot and killed by her estranged boyfriend on May 25.
According to Quintero’s relatives, the family is currently struggling to cope with the incident and is asking the community to help pay for her funeral service and other related expenses.
“Family members from throughout the entire country are coming together,” said Joe Quintero, Patricia’s cousin. “We’re hoping it turns into something positive.”
Colton Police officers reported that a shooting occurred around 8 p.m. last Thursday in the parking lot of a business plaza on 1430 Cooley Drive. Officers arrived at the scene and found Quintero’s former partner–Arbret Brown–dead.
Quintero and her family were located at the Plaza Las Glorias in the 1100 block of Mt. Vernon Avenue. Paramedics proceeded to take the 31-year-old woman to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center to treat her critical gunshot wounds. Quintero eventually died of her wounds at the hospital hours later.
Colton Police are still investigating the incident.
A small vigil was held on Monday evening to honor the mother of six children, described by friends and family as a “hardworking” and “caring” person.
“She was always there for her friends,” remarked Patricia’s sister, Mayra Quintero, fighting back tears. “Whether it was giving people rides to the doctor or doing someone a favor, she always did everything she could to help.”
The Colton Police Department encourages anyone with information to call 909-370-5028 or 909-370-5000.
