The San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce joined the Time For Change Foundation (TFCF) for a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, September 23. TFCF opened their new administrative offices on Mt. View Avenue near Highland Avenue in San Bernardino.

The Time For Change Foundation was established in 2002 by Kim Carter, and has been at the forefront of eliminating homelessness in San Bernardino. According to the grand opening news release, to date, TFCF has helped over 1,020 homeless women and children in San Bernardino County reach self-sufficiency in addition to reunifying 249 children with their mothers.

During the opening ceremony, one of TFCF residents Tina Gomes shared how TFCF has impacted her life, and how she was able to be reunited with her son Eddie, the night before. Maria Perez is a new resident in the TFCF program. Maria said that “she had been involved with drugs and had been recently released from jail.” Just prior to being released, one of Maria’s friends suggested going to TFCF for help. Maria has been in the program for three weeks, and said that “she was doing well now.”

In addition to the new administrative offices, TFCF runs a 7-unit apartment called Phoenix Square, operates two shelters, offers consulting services, job training, and several other programs.
