California Inland Empire Council Boy Scouts of America awards Venture Crew 107
1 min readMembers of Venture Crew 107 were honored with Medal of Merits by the California Inland Empire Council Boy Scouts of America after a rescue in Zion National Park.
While on a service project at the park, seven members of Crew 107 from Temescal and Tahquitz districts were involved in rescue operations for some park visitors. According to a Council news release, the visitors required assistance due to being unprepared for extreme weather conditions . Triple-digit temperatures made it difficult for hikers, but luckily Crew 107 came across and helped transport many of them to medical personnel at the trail ahead.
Crew members used their knowledge of first aid learned through annual first aid and CPR training offered through the American Red Cross.
Crew members honored include: Thomas Hiten, Jenifer Arent, Miles Persons, Riley Armbruster, Tyler de Leeuw, Mathew Braveman.
